What ReverseGrowth is, where its data comes from, how a report is checked, and how to reach us.

What it is

ReverseGrowth is a growth analyst for any website. You type a domain; it gathers what is public about how that site grew, reads it, and writes a report you can read in about ten minutes. Every sentence in the report points to the source it came from.

It is built for founders sizing up a rival, marketers looking for the launch, post or search term that moved the numbers, and investors and analysts who want a sourced first pass on a company.

Where the data comes from

  • Traffic and channels: monthly visit estimates and where visits come from (direct, search, social, referrals, AI answers).
  • Search: the keywords and pages that bring a site its search visits, and who links to it.
  • History: archived versions of the homepage since launch, domain and certificate records.
  • Launches and communities: Hacker News, Product Hunt, Reddit and X threads, YouTube tutorials and reviews, GitHub repositories and npm downloads.
  • The pages themselves: any page the research decides to read, and screenshots of how pages look.

Traffic and search numbers are third-party estimates. They are good for scale and trend, not the same as the site's own analytics, and the report says so wherever it uses them.

How a report is checked

After a first look at the site, the research sets out the questions it has to answer, marks each one answered or not found, and keeps looking while important ones are still open. Before writing, it reads its own draft as an editor would: a claim the material contradicts, a same-named site mistaken for the one being researched, a turning point that rests on no evidence. It goes back to check those, then writes. A question that could not be answered is listed as unknown rather than guessed.

What it costs

Research is paid in credits, by what the work actually costs, and charged after it is done. A run that finds nothing costs nothing. Signing up gives free credits for a first look; plans are on the pricing page.

Who can see your research

Your reports are private by default. You can make one public: anyone with the link can then read it, and search engines may index it. You can make it private again at any time. See the privacy policy for how account data is handled.
